Getting the most out of your Xtream Membership –
This week we will not be meeting in the live webinar Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday in Observance of the U.S. Thanksgiving Holiday.
We have added new digital products to the xtream digital download library and are starting to organize the digital library a bit by Alphabetical category. It is not completely Alphabetized but at least we are starting to Group it by Alpha, Numeric category. With an unknown amount of products remaining to be uploaded, we are not currently able to do much more than at least Group them. In time, we will be able to establish a complete alphabetical ordering. It is not completely alphabetized yet. We hope to have that finished sometime during the upcoming week.
Note that a Featured Digital Product will be listed at the very top of the digital product list that is out of Alpha order. This will correspond with the digital product we give away in our not-so-daily news report. There will also be another title, and that will be another Featured Digital Product which can only be found in the Xtream Members digital download library.

Getting your website Search Engine Friendly:
We are using seo tools found at the Xtream Practical SEO website in class and then the attendees will download and use the webceo desktop seo tool outside of the webinar. In session we use this tool page rank analyzer to see where our websites rank http://www.seocentro.com/tools/search-engines/keyword-position.html in three search engines: Google, Yahoo, and Live.
To see if a webpage is actually search engine friendly we use a free online seo meta tag analyzer, http://www.seocentro.com/tools/search-engi...g-analyzer.html
This free seo tool looks at four main elements: Title, Description, Keywords, and Author and in another section analyzes keyword density and then the number of urls listed on the page itself. It gives you a good, solid, platform in which to use to get your site search engine friendly.
Webceo gives you an even more indepth look at your webpage and gives even more detailed suggestions.
The most common errors on webpages where titles and descriptions being too long and too many keywords in the meta tags. Some pages had too many links on them to be considered Search Engine Friendly.
Optimizing your page for your targeted key words:
After looking at whether our overall website was considered search engine friendly, we then looked at whether or not our web sites where actually optimized for the key word or key words we where in fact targeting. For this we used http://www.seocentro.com/tools/seo/page-keyword-analyzer.html. This free seo tool reports on 5 main elements: title, description, first H tag, body, domain name.
The importance of H tags:
Over the course of the past two sessions, many of us have found that by simply adding the H tag - whether an H1, H2, or H3 - our ranking in the Search Engines improved almost immediately! Most scripts as well as web design pages do not use H tags, so you oftentimes need to add those manually yourself to your webpages. This is very easy to do by simply going into your cpanel and opening the html editor for whatever page it is you need to add the code to.
Find an H code you need to add on your webpages at the Xtream Global Marketing practical seo website
Replace that which is applicable to your website including targeted keywords in the code and place on your website. You can also center the tag by using the additional center code.
Note, you can change the font size and color in this particular code to better fit your webpage. as well. The H tag serves as a summary of your website and should include your major target keywords. YOu can have more than one H tag, but typically the Search Engine Bot reads the first one it encounters on your site and may not always record the other H tags.
Eliminate Stop Words:
Dave Williams presented on some other handy tips which he discovered by using WebCEO. One tip is to forgo using stop words in your titles and description meta tags. A typical Stop Word is the word and. While it is commonly used in a sentence, in your titles and meta tags it should be avoided as when the Search Engine Bots encounter them they literally stop reading and recording the rest of the information. They are fine in your content of course. Just eliminate stop words from your site title and in your description meta tags.
Place keywords in content at the end of your website:
According to WebCEO, the search engines actually look for your targeted keywords in the last 150 words in the content at the BOTTOM of your website. Many of us have started adding a short summary of our webpages right below the standard Copyright or Powered by Statement. This tactic does seem to work. I am experimenting with placing an H tag at the bottom as well.

As Vern pointed out in session, if you are in the practice of updating your website frequently, you can in fact change the Revisit-after to a smaller interval. On the flip side, if you do NOT make frequent changes, you may want to bump that number up.
Note to those using the Amcs traffic exchange scripts, pt-scripts, and possibly other scripts as well. You will find that these scripts do not properly configure the meta tags. I have a support question into Glen at Amcs on this. You can, however, add the H1 tag through Admin by going to your Front Page and adding in the code listed above. On the pt-scripts we will have to figure that out on our own as there is no longer anyone home for support on these.

Wow! What a great surf contest event we have had this week at Work Digital Traffic. Contest results show below in the Xtream Traffic Exchange Report. We will choose the member who receives the Log in Ad on Monday.
One thing for sure, whether you won an item or earned an upgrade, EVERYONE – every member – is a winner because of the amount of free traffic and free hits everyone received this week. Average was about 90,000 hits per day. As you can see, the autosurf is really very easy to accomplish. In order to help encourage members to continue to surf, we will continue to reward a Featured Ad Spot to one surfer every day good for one week, and a Log In Ad for the upcoming week as well. Those of you who did not earn the Gold upgrade have all month to continue to surf for it. As you can also see, surfing for the gold is really quite easy – as is surfing for the Platinum upgrade.
Next up is a referral contest. We have great surfing going on, and lots of hits happening. So we all need to get the word out on this venue. I am going to offer permanent link spots on work digital traffic as well as other high profile websites as part of the rewards for the upcoming contest. Details to follow next week.

As mentioned yesterday, one key element to getting good placement in the Search Engines like Google is getting traffic, or hits, to your websites. Another key element to good placement, as well as Page Ranking or Relevancy involves links. I have been investing some good, free link services and found one I am giving a whirl. It is called Telelinks. It is not necessarily easy to use, but, they have a good support team who can help get you going if need be. You place code on your server and website both and you get back links to around 6,000 or so participating websites

Wow! What a great surf contest event we have had this week at Work Digital Traffic. Contest results show below in the Xtream Traffic Exchange Report. We will choose the member who receives the Log in Ad on Monday.
One thing for sure, whether you won an item or earned an upgrade, EVERYONE – every member – is a winner because of the amount of free traffic and free hits everyone received this week. Average was about 90,000 hits per day. As you can see, the autosurf is really very easy to accomplish. In order to help encourage members to continue to surf, we will continue to reward a Featured Ad Spot to one surfer every day good for one week, and a Log In Ad for the upcoming week as well. Those of you who did not earn the Gold upgrade have all month to continue to surf for it. As you can also see, surfing for the gold is really quite easy – as is surfing for the Platinum upgrade.
Next up is a referral contest. We have great surfing going on, and lots of hits happening. So we all need to get the word out on this venue. As mentioned yesterday, one key element to getting good placement in the Search Engines like Google is getting traffic, or hits, to your websites. Another key element to good placement, as well as Page Ranking or Relevancy involves links. I have been investing some good, free link services and found one I am giving a whirl. It is called Telelinks. It is not necessarily easy to use, but, they have a good support team who can help get you going if need be. You place code on your server and website both and you get back links to around 6,000 or so participating websites

We had so much news going on today, 11-7-08 that I decided to publish two editions.
Congratulations and welcome aboard to our newest Xtream Professional Team member Elisbeth Rooney! Elisbeth operates the Wild Rose Marketing Group and Wild Rose Designs in addition to other online specialties like the Wild Rose Candles and online shopping gift site. She brings a wealth of experience in building websites, managing traffic exchanges, practical technical experience, and other talents to the overall Xtream Group. She has already been teaching in our evening sessions and we are thrilled to have her officially onboard with the Xtream Professional Team. As is typical with our Group, she has been nicknamed Lis and is ok with that.
Liz started out with Xtream by being a Network Partner, then became a member of Xtream Global itself. You will find that she has a forum in place at Smiley Traffic Exchange and is very active on the internet. A year or so back she had some thriving manual exchange traffic venues – one of which had over 7,000 members. She underwent (like many of us do) some serious setbacks with servers and scripts. None-the-less, she is back providing outstanding online marketing resources. One of the hallmarks of her venues is superior member support that is real and straight forward. You can find her venues listed with Xtream and meet Lis in person in one of our evening webinars usually. (although she has been known to pop in unannounced during the afternoon sessions as well periodically.)
Last issue I mentioned that one good online advertising strategy involves using safelist submitters. Xtream members have access to a nice desktop submitter. There are also some web based submitters run by several of our Network Partners. Evergreen Autosend Safelist Submitter has a special exclusive for Xtream members. For only $4.50 a month you receive the Executive Level upgrade. When you go the submitter route, I highly recommend you also use pop3 email accounts.
If you have your own domain, you can sometimes set up multiple email accounts to use for your safelist email marketing. Do check with your service provider on what they will and will not allow you to do however. Some hosting companies will NOT allow you to use their service for commercial email marketing. If you are need of pop3 email, several Xtream Network partners can supply them for you.
Other online marketing strategies involve obtaining good placement in the Search Engines. Next Thursday, 11-13-08 in the 9pm eastern Xtream Resource Center webinar online conference room we start a new series on Practical SEO. This is a hands-on workshop where the participants look at each others websites and see how they are doing in the various Search Engines. The main focus will be on Google at first. We will see how our web sites rank now, and then track them over the course of the next many months. The goal is to first Get on the Map with the Engines (first 100 pages), then to Conquer them (top 40.) The ultimate goal is for a top 10 listing in a search engine like Google. It is practical and hands on as we, as a group, will analyze each others websites and work on improving the ranking on each site in the Engines.
We will also discuss Page Relevancy or Page Ranking (PR) as well with an eye on how to achieve a PR of 4 or greater. While many of the Xtream Professionals will be leading some of the discussions and workshops, we will also have guest speakers as well.
These webinars are absolutely free and open to the public.
Getting the most out of your Xtream Membership –
As an xtream global marketing member you have access to a number of auto marketing desktop tools: the Alexa Rank Enhancer, an Auto FFA Ad Blaster, and a desktop safelist submitter. The download links are found in your members’ back office along with tutorials on how to set up and use the online marketing resources. Also, you have access to a spam word analyzer which I highly recommend you use ANYTIME you send out email. You would be surprised at the innocent words that will trigger the spam filters at all major email services. Any word associated with office, offer, off, etc is considered a spam word for example. And, it is not just that your email gets thrown into the Junk folder – spam words will prevent your email from being delivered completely - even if the recipient wants to get your email! These tools are all available commercially and you would pay around $80 or so for all of them if you purchased them from outside suppliers.
